Injecting Equipment Provision

NHS Lothian provides free injecting equipment and paraphernalia and education on safer injecting techniques for people with injecting drug use as a way of minimising harm and reducing spread of HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Provision is made via NHS sites, community pharmacies and third sector drugs agencies. Often this service is the only one used by the service users and so it serves as an important point of contact for information/referral to other services.
