This policy document identifies the list of clinical conditions and related baseline investigations for which designated registered nursing and allied health professionals (healthcare professionals) are approved to order. For the purpose of this document laboratory investigations are defined as:
- Biochemistry blood and urine investigations
- Haematological blood investigations
- Microbiological blood, urine and sputum investigations
The document also outlines the responsibility of the healthcare professional in relation to ordering baseline investigations​.
